Montreal’s knitting has just announced their sophomore album Souvenir, which will be released on June 26 via Mint Records. The band released the album's first single today, titled, “I Want To Remember Everything.”

knitting received some acclaim with the release of their 2024 album Some Kind of Heaven. Stereogum named them a Band to Watch and even Nardwuar sang their praises.

“I Want to Remember Everything” was one of the first songs that really came together for the album,” says singer Mischa Dempsey,“It draws inspiration from the movies, music and TV that made me feel really seen as a kid, but that maybe my friends weren’t so into. My dad had a lot of random songs and music videos on our family computer that he’d downloaded from Limewire, one of them being a fan video edit of a Linkin Park song that me and my siblings would watch on repeat. That was a big inspiration for the overall feel of this song, along with the 1996 movie ‘Harriet the Spy’. “I Want to Remember Everything” is a love letter to the weirdo I was when I was a kid, and as a way to try to reconnect with the parts of myself I hid away as I was growing up.”

The band will begin a short tour in April, playing shows in Ottawa, Peterborough, Toronto and Montreal.
